We are pleased to announce the release of Spectrum software version 5.41 Updates of note include:
- Equity tool: This new tool allows users to analyze within-country inequality in intervention coverage, by visualizing the impact of scaling up coverage from the national average to the level of the top wealth quintile. Further details on the methodology behind the tool can be found here. To access it within Spectrum, go to Tools > More Tools > Equity Tool.
- Breastfeeding promotion: This intervention (under Coverage > Breastfeeding) is now split into two platforms: Promotion interventions that are delivered at the health facility level (“health systems”) or through activities at the community level (“home/community”). Both options can be checked simultaneously in order to model interventions that cover both platforms. The new odds ratios for the impact of promotion on age-appropriate breastfeeding are based on a reanalysis of data from a recent meta-analysis (source).
- Subnational wizard: A bug in the last public release that caused problems with the subnational wizard has been resolved, so this feature is now fully functional.
- Updated effectiveness data: The LiST database is continually updated as new information is available. A list of recent updates of effectiveness values related to nutritional interventions is attached.
We encourage you to download the new software version by going to our website.
